JOURNALISM IN NEPAL
2 weeks to Maximum of 5 months.
Our journalism placements will be for the seriously interested volunteers who have the ability to work independently as a reporter, feature writer on varied subjects such as travel, environment etc. Volunteers will have to break into the competitive world of journalism in English. as a writer you will work on specific assignment with guidance from our local team. You will be interviewing local people, narrating community issues reviewing project events, and snapping photographs. Depending on your interest, level of skill and experience, our project officer of the club shell accommodate you at levels based suited for you.
You will be geting regular assignments upon your area of specialization. You will get a press card from the publication before your assignments start. You will work with the Senior Jouranlist from publication. You may go with him or yourself in seminar and press confirance.
Requirements To Be Lions Volunteer
No age bar an applicant should have willingness to help the people of Nepal and neplease society and motivative, self confidance and feel comfortable with children.
Phase I – Orientation (2 Weeks- Applicable Only For Long Term Volunteers)
In the first part of the orientation phase, participants will be given an introduction to the programs schedule, health care, cultural and social ‘Dos’ and ‘Don’ts’ and interactions programs. During this phase the participants will be provided the necessary preparation for their volunteer works and the areas to be placed.
Phase II – Program Participation(1-5 Months)
In this phase volunteers will work at their placement site as per their skills, interest, and the needs of the club. Our club will place the volunteers as per their desired living situation (rural, semi urban and urban) and they will live with a local family.
350$ To 1200$
The program fee covers:
– Administration charges,
– Language and Cultural Training,
– Accommodation, Meals with host Family,
– Program Supervision,
– Airport pickup and drop
The program fee does not cover
– Your flights (domestic and international),
– Nepal entry visa (90 days tourist visa+ Visa extension),
– Insurance Related,
– Airport departure taxes,
– Your personal expenses
