Founded in 2000. Lions Club of Kathmandu Samakhushi (District 325 B) Nepal is the country’s first and one of the largest non-profit service- oriented organizations from different walk of life inviting students, adults, professional and retired persons from every walks of life from aboard for our humanitarian projects each year Some volunteers have altruistic motives to help the less fortunate; others seek to improve language skills and yet other volunteers for cultural immersion. Whatever the motivation, volunteering in Nepal with our club can be a valuable and rewarding experience for all. You will surely discover a world outside of your own and gain a greater compassion for areas of need in human relations and development, conservation, community development health and many more.
We believe through volunteering we develop bridges of understanding and cooperation between the people of the developed and the developing countries.
Requirements To Be Lions Volunteer
No age bar an applicant should have willingness to help the people of Nepal and neplease society and motivative, self confidance and feel comfortable with children.
Phase I – Orientation (2 Weeks- Applicable Only For Long Term Volunteers)
In the first part of the orientation phase, participants will be given an introduction to the programs schedule, health care, cultural and social ‘Dos’ and ‘Don’ts’ and interactions programs. During this phase the participants will be provided the necessary preparation for their volunteer works and the areas to be placed.
Phase II – Program Participation(1-5 Months)
In this phase volunteers will work at their placement site as per their skills, interest, and the needs of the club. Our club will place the volunteers as per their desired living situation (rural, semi urban and urban) and they will live with a local family.

The program fee covers:
– Administration charges,
– Language and Cultural Training,
– Accommodation, Meals with host Family,
– Program Supervision,
– Airport pickup and drop
The program fee does not cover
– Your flights (domestic and international),
– Nepal entry visa (90 days tourist visa+ Visa extension),
– Insurance Related,
– Airport departure taxes,
– Your personal expenses

The Lions Club of Kathmandu- Samakhushi is serving in Nepalese society since more than Eight years. Most projects funded by the Lions Club directly benefit the local community who has been suffed by Natural or political issues. Many other projects directly or indirectly benefit our citizens, e.g. Health Camp, schlorship progam etc.
