History

Lions Clubs International is the world’s largest service club organization with more than 1.4 million members in approximately 46,000 clubs in more than 200 countries and geographical areas around the world.

The first Lion President of Nepal was Late Lion Matrika Prasad Koirala, born on 1st January 1912 in Biratnagar, Morang the eastern part of Nepal. He took the opportunity to become the First Lion President of Nepal be the establishing the Lions Club of Biratnagar ( First Lion Club In Nepal) in the year 1971. The extension chairperson of Lions Club of Biratnagar was Lion PC Ajmer, India.

Till now 10000+ Clubs have been established throughout the Nepal. 

Lions Club of Kathmandu is the first Lions Club in Kathmandu and second in the country, Nepal, was established in 1972 in the initiation of 50 young leaders, like wise Lions Club of Batauli, the first Lions Club in Batauli and second in the country, Nepal, was established in 1972 in the initiation of 50 young leaders.
